Now that OVC has concluded, are you looking to watch any missed lectures and complete MCQs for OVC education program?

Optometry Australia members: All live Optometry Australia CPD presentations from Optometry Virtually Connected were recorded and these, along with the associated assessment program are available in the Institute of Excellence’s online learning platform. Simply click on the link and search ‘Optometry Virtually Connected 2021’ to watch, learn and earn any CPD you may have missed at Optometry Virtually Connected. Note: please complete your MCQs via the Institute and not via the optometry Virtually Connected website as we can no longer guarantee that the results of your assessment will transfer to your CPD Record.
APCO and New Zealand delegates: All live and on-demand presentations as well as MCQs will remain open for 3 months to 20 September 2021. If you need to review or refresh your knowledge of live presentations, please go to the Presentations page, or to the On-Demand page for on-demand presentations.  We will process Certificates of Completion of all MCQs completed and passed the last week of July, August and September 2021.
How do you know if you have passed the assessment?
You can have as many attempts to pass as you wish & the pass rate is 50%. You will be notified immediately if you pass.

How can I obtain the maximum amount of CPD Hours available at Optometry Virtually Connected?
By choosing to watch all live keynote presentations and undertaking the entire On-Demand CPD Program, including the formal Multiple Choice Assessment Questions (MCQs) associated with these educational activities (with a pass mark being 5 or more on each set of 10 Assessment Questions), you will obtain the maximum amount of CPD hours available.

How Do I Complete the Assessment Questions?
Each lecture will have a set of 10 multiple choice questions related to the lecture content.  Upon successfully answering at least 50% of the questions, you will be awarded with an extra 0.50 hours of CPD in addition to the lecture time. You can answer these questions by clicking on the MCQs tab or alternatively, go to the Presentations tab, click on the presentation that you wish to complete the assessment, scroll down to Assessment and then click on the MCQs link.

How long after Optometry Virtually Connected do I have in order to complete the formal Assessment Component?
The formal Assessment Component will be available to delegates via the Optometry Virtually Connected platform until 5.00pm AEST on Sunday 20 June 2021. After this time they will be available via Optometry Australia's  Institute of Excellence. While the assessment is held on the platform you can view and attempt the MCQs online as many times as you like during this time.

Will Optometry Virtually Connected include ‘interactive’ hours?
Whilst there are 30 hours on offer (15 of them being therapeutic hours), Optometry Virtually Connected is an entirely online event and, at present, there are no “interactive” hours planned. The virtual nature of this conference, with its high volume of delegates, means that setting up virtual conference rooms for small group discussions, which enable a two-way flow of interaction, is difficult to facilitate online.   AHPRA/OBA’s definition of “interactive activity” is “Learning that involves 2-way flow of information and occurs with other practitioners, such as face to face OR interactive online education“. You will most certainly have the opportunity to be able to obtain all your non-interactive CPD requirements (including therapeutic requirements) by attending the various elements of Optometry Virtually Connected.

How many MCQS are there and what are they worth in time?
There will be 10 MCQs per keynote lecture, each set of questions worth an additional 0.50 CPD hours if a minimum pass mark of 50% is obtained.
